Discover how CTHINGS.CO's Orchestra CALM powers life-saving solutions.<https://cthings.co/solutions/orchestra>

[Orchestra](https://cthings.co/solutions/orchestra) is at the heart of a wide range of innovative use cases, including the [Valmont](https://www.valmontstructures.com) Smart Crossing solution, which transforms traditional infrastructure into a smart, responsive system that enhances pedestrian safety.

At the core of this solution, [Orchestra](https://cthings.co/solutions/orchestra) CALM runs machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) on edge computing devices embedded in the smart pole, enabling real-time video analytics for pedestrian detection.

When a camera (or motion sensor) detects pedestrians approaching the crossing, the lights mounted on the pole begin flashing to alert drivers to slow down and prepare for a pedestrian crossing. This simple yet effective solution can prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

[CTHINGS.CO](https://cthings.co/) provides the backbone through the Orchestra platform to seamlessly manage and integrate these edge devices, enabling real-time safety measures and seamless coordination of smart technologies.

With our soon-to-be-launched rule engine, [Orchestra](https://cthings.co/solutions/orchestra) will enable even more sophisticated event-triggered responses. This means that any detection (whether a pedestrian, vehicle, or other event) can trigger tailored actions to further enhance safety and efficiency on the road.

We’re helping create safer, more efficient environments across industries by enabling companies like [Valmont](https://www.valmontstructures.com) to deliver smarter infrastructure solutions.
